Haven't seen any changes in the literature. I always felt that it really doesn't matter. Who cares if it had a crossbar on it or not? Doesn't change anything important. It is the society making a mountain out of a molehill as usual to be different from other religions.

by whyizit inmy husband was listening to a radio station the other day and said there was news that the wts has decided that jesus dying on a cross rather than a stake may not be as far-fetched as they once thought.. have any of you heard this?
i have been cruising the threads to see if there was already one on this subject.
if there is, point me to it!

by Atlantis inhttp://www.lse.co.uk/showbiznews.asp?code=au44814n&headline=princes_stripper_plea wednesday, 4th october 2006, 13:49. life style extra (uk) - prince pleaded with strippers to keep their clothes on during a recent night out.. .
the 'purple rain' singer, who is a jehovah's witness, is said to have begged the gorgeous girls to cover up while he was partying at top los angeles nightclub xenii.. .
according to reports, prince told the strippers: "it's wrong to dance like that.

I agree a that Prince is hypocritical. But sometimes I feel sorry for how confused he must be. I read he had made a promise to a dying relative (mother/grandmother?) that he would become a witness. And his son dying must have affected him too. He seems to have some need for answers, but certainly cannot fit into the witness lifestyle.
Why would he even be in a strip club is the big question. I think any other witness that did some of the things he has as a witness would be disfewllowshipped. Could it be he has MONEY to contribute. I hope he realizes that the witnesses can never fullfill his spiritual need.

The Bible forbids the eating of blood which includes blood transfusions.
Now blood is said to be an organ and the bible allows us to use other people's blood in fractions, but not our own stored blood.

The king of the north and south cannot just keep changing to suit the societies whims. They don't have a clue who really fullfills this prophecy. Why they put out the 2 Daniel prophecy books to bring this to everyone's attention is beyond me. I remember studying these the first time around and wondering what they had to do with the Bible or anything we really needed to know. No one talked about them later or really seemed to understand them. I felt I was in some kind of a poorly researched history class.
So the society has no idea this time and strangely even admits it.

An elder called me just to see how I am. All he could talk about was this stupid tract about false religion's destruction. He was so excited about it. I fear the "big announcement" is something about the tract work that they are doing. Much to do about nothing.

(Auld Soul)
You are correct that the younger ones have grown up googling their information. I have kids in college and they use the internet for everything. I wish I had the internet when I was in college. They use the internet for everything else too. Funny, though, I can't break that conditioning when it comes to googling the society. They are truly afraid.
The internet could never be banned. I don't see how. It is similar to TV or movies, there is good and bad. And although the society has mentioned many times about putting the TV on a shelf in the closet, I never knew anyone who did it.Software that makes it easier to check up on what people say vs.what people do will make it more acceptable and easier. The society will have to be one step ahead. But those who seek to expose the society will only have to be one step ahead of the society. Don't think that would be too hard from what I've seen here. I often hear about things on here before my witness family does.

Question: Demons
by ladybug25 ingrowing up, i remember hearing stories from my own parents and others in the congregation about experiences with demons.
sister x wore a t-shirt that she purchased at a second hand store and the demons attached themselves to the shirt and gave her problems.
certain movies and/or cds would give a family problems.

These are the stories of very active imaginations. Why wouls the demons want to "inhabit" personal items? The only people I ever knew who experienced such crazy things were those who were not logical in their thinking. Also, to have demons attacking you and coming off victorious makes one feel rather special. Maybe regular life just wasn't exciting enough for them.
Don't be afraid of demons because of leaving the organization. If there are any demons, they would be right at home with the teachings of the Watchtower.

It is a totally natural function as one grows up. And is often resorted to as an adult also. No guilt needed. The bible does not even mention it, little less condemn it. I always wanted to crawl under my chair when they talked about it in a bad way at the hall. I can't imagine having to be the brother that gave the talk. I have seen this subject being assigned to teenage boys for talks on the ministry school. I always felt so sorry for them. Many times they just came down with a sudden illness to avoid the agony and I can't say that I blame them.

Who did Jesus die for?
by Perry ini met a really nice couple once who went to an orphanage in a foreign country and adopted a little girl.
impressed with their goodness i probed a little as to why they had done such a noble thing.
surprisingly, the man told me that this was their third child to adopt.

How about 1 Cor.15:22-"For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive."
What person was not affected by Adam's sin? If we all die because of Adam's sin, then this verse seems to me to say that we will all be made alive through Christ's sacrifice. if Adam's sin could wipe out the whole human race, why couldn't Christ's sacrifice give life to the whole human race?

New November Kingdom Ministry
by choosing life incould this article be a protection for the borg against the tort of misrepresentation?
all of a sudden, they seem to want to be sure and inform the dubs about all of their options.
also, it is interesting that the consequences of the refusal of each fraction is explained more openly than i have ever seen before.. what do you think?.
